CHEDINGTON OPEN GARDENS & STUDIOS 2023

Saturday 10th June 11am – 5pm

Fourteen stunning gardens to explore

Including Chedington Court Gardens, 200 year old Cottage Gardens, Nature Gardens and Formal Gardens

OUR GARDENS

Our selection of gardens run throughout the Village and capture many different styles of gardening. From formal terraces to meandering woodland paths, pretty cottage gardens to statement planting, large water features and natural streams there is so much to inspire and admire. Each garden is hosted by its owner or gardener who will be happy to talk you through their garden, pass on tips and identify plants for you.

CHEDINGTON VILLAGE

Our pretty conservation village dates back to 1191 and boasts a ‘chocolate box’ village street with thatched cottages. Backing on to National Trust woodland and with spectacular views over Dorset and Somerset many of our properties are over 100 years old including our beautiful Victorian Village Hall. There are numerous footpaths leading from the village and is the starting point of the River Parrett Trail.

OUR STUDIOS

Chedington boasts a selection of talented residents who are delighted to throw open the doors of their Studios during our Open Gardens event. Watch these gifted artists, craftworkers and food producers at work creating wonderful bespoke Dorset products. From pottery to wood turning, art to Italian meat curing you will get the chance to learn more and pick up your unique piece of Chedington produce.

REFRESHMENTS

The homemade cakes of Chedington are always a wonderful treat. You can enjoy a light lunch or tea and cakes throughout the day. Cream Teas will be served in the Great Hall of Chedington Court, a perfect pit stop during your tour. Visit our ice cream stall for a delicious locally made ice cream, with extra sprinkles for the kids!

CHILDREN’S TRAIL

Children of all ages will enjoy the challenge of our Chedington Trail. Find Charlie the Chedington Cat throughout the gardens to fill in your Trail Card and once complete, drop back to the Village Hall to claim your reward!

PLANT STALLS & PRODUCE SALES
