Chedington Court – Stunningly beautiful gardens and grounds. Spring fed ornamental lake with fountain. On the southern side of the house is a series of attractive stone terraces surrounded by smart stone ballustrading and a pair of mirrored stairs lead from here to the croquet lawn which is surrounded by beautiful herbaceous borders. Paths lead to a succession of ponds which form an attractive water garden. Beyond this is a rockery garden
passing under a series of wooden bridges to some lower ponds. Further to the south is an enclosed kitchen garden area with greenhouses and fruit cages. The rolling lawns drop down to the west of the house to a glasshouse and nursery beds. With on of the largest Japanese Red Cedars in the South West.
Stoneleigh – Three distinct garden areas. Newly planted front garden. Rear gravel courtyard garden with roses. Challenging shrub filled terraced garden with steps and pathways leading to top level with amazing long distant views.
Hazel Barton – A mix of formal and informal gardens, nature ponds and re-landscaped wild flower lawn, complete with a subterranean hobbit house.
Manor Barn – The garden sits on chalk, limestone and Green Sand and was in poor shape when we arrived in 2023. We planted four trees a Birch, Beech, Cherry and Maple to create height followed by Geraniums and Geums (Mrs Bradshaw). Next move is to plant Climbing and Rambling Roses on the house frontage.
One Westside – A long thin garden with a small vegetable patch and a marvellous display of daisies and dandelions. Please take a seat and spend some time enjoying the view and listening to the birds.
Three Westside – Lovingly maintained garden containing many varieties of shrubs and trees with a beautiful handmade shed and decking area to enjoy the stunning views.
Four Westside – A long narrow garden, under redevelopment! Planning to create a fusion between cottage garden and tropical paradise.
Five Westside – Managed by nature with occasional human intervention.
Six Westside – Nature’s quiet triumph: resilient beauty, untapped promise and a with a splendid view.
Eight Westside – A mature garden with lawn and elegant pond.
Primrose Cottage – Long, narrow, mature garden divided into four areas. Mixed planting with a stunning, magnolia framed view of the rolling hills beyond. Vegetable plot.
Old Orchard – An informal combination of a native and cottage garden planting, with a ‘No Dig’ vegetable patch.
Sandy Knapp – A mature ‘hide and seek’ garden bisected by a trickling stream with many herbaceous borders, bog gardens, vegetable and fruit areas plus extensive views.
Peamead – Newly planted garden with herbaceous plants, shrubs and bulbs and a wildflower meadow being created to make a habitat for wildlife. The large pond with a cascade was already in the garden. Wildlife mural along the footpath.
